Spring has spung (FINALLY)

We're finally getting better weather! Ok, well it's still rainy and dreary outside but we left the heat off last night and when I woke up, I wasn't freezing. Whoo!

Yesterday was super nice out and little man enjoyed playing outside. Pictures to come soon.

Other than that, just been busy with school work and all that stuff. Will update more soon!

Haircut Hell

So Jayden had to have his haircut this week. It was a nightmare, as expected. A few days before, I started talking to him about it and he seemed fine. He remembered that the "hair cut lady" had lollipops and that seemed to make him happy.

We get to the salon and sit in the chair, and he immediately goes crazy.  You would swear she was cutting off his limbs and not just hair.

Sigh. But he needed it. These are the few times that I think having a girl would be easier. I'd just let the hair grow out.

Hi!

Dear followers, random people on the internet, etc.,

Hiii! I'm bacck. I know, I know, you probably haven't even noticed since I'm one of 7563y7437436 mom bloggers on the web these days. And yes, I realize there is a "y" in that figure. Since not updating, I started a couple other projects, which honestly didn't do so well and well, that's why I'm back here. I love writing, need to write more, and the other projects I set up were just to time consuming for me to keep up on.

School is going well, except for algebra. But I suck in algebra so that's no shock.

I've got back into knitting, but I haven't actually made anything yet, just practicing stitches.

And, last but not least, I've become a Twi-hard. I loved the movie so much, I went and bought the books. I just finished New Moon. I'll start Eclipse sometime this week.

The little man is good, being a typical toddler and getting into trouble.

So, those are just some random updates. I'll be back soon!

What if this was YOUR child?

Ok peeps, I'm short on time here. I'll write more later on this story but PLEASE check out this facebook cause. A little boy is in need of a kidney. His family can use any type of support you have to give, whether it's emotional or monetary.

More to come later!

My poor Hubz !

My poor Hubz, I abandoned it. No, I'm not talking some cutesy name for FiancĂ©, calling him "hubby or hubz". Haha. That little box to your left, that says "Check out my Hubpages" but is empty.

Writing a Hub wouldn't be hard, I just haven't thought of a topic. I have a lot of ideas, just haven't put any into action yet. With school work, researching feels like my job already.

But I need to get my Hub going! So that will be a January goal - write at least one hub! I'll keep you updated!

365 Days with Joel

Every so often, I come across a blog that reminds me how lucky I am to have had a healthy child. There is so much that can happen during pregnancy and childbirth, that even an uneventful pregnancy can end tragically. We need to all remember how special our children are.

Recently, I came across a mom, Jessica, with a mission. Her mission? To have readers submit 365 pictures remembering her angel baby, Joel. Pictures are then posted to her blog, 365 Days with Joel.

So, I'm asking my readers to take a few minutes, check out this mom's blog, and help keep her son's memory alive. More details are available on her blog, in the FAQ post. Check it out!

A blog hop for Tuesday

Busy Mom's Tips Tuesday Blog Hop

Bringing in the new!

Hey everyone! I had planned to get my new year goals up here sooner but the past few days have been super busy. New Year Day, Jay and I visited at mother-in-laws with her boyfriend's family and some neighbors. Jay was miserable pretty much the whole time except for when the neighbor's daughters were paying attention to him. He's such a ladies man.  Yesterday we visited Fiance at the rehab. He seems to be doing well. We did have to sit through an hour long mandatory family lecture while Jay got some one on one time with Daddy. Of course it was full of my favorite topic, Al-anon. Fiance will be getting out next Monday. So now I need to work with mother on setting up a plan for how long we can stay here.

So! On to the goals for the year:

1. Be active. 2-4 Days of exercise a week.
2. Grow spiritually.  Make at least 15-20 minutes a day for meditation / reading.
3. Keep up on school work. Start on Mondays instead of Tuesdays for each week.
4. Get back to sticking to the daily to do lists.
5. Look into the Y daycare program and look for a job.
6. Do self-esteem work book / practice positive thinking methods from  book.
7. Modified version of Whole-Living's 28 day challenge

Wish me luck! I'll keep you updated!

Out with the old - Part 2

I started a mini-project for today and tomorrow. I was thinking about how many emotions we gather in one year. How many arguments, disagreements, and bad experiences accumulate and can clutter our minds in just 365 days. I noticed, when typing my previous blog post, that the "bad" experiences of 2010 far outweighed the good. As I looked around the room, I realized how much other stuff has accumulated, not only in 2010, but some of it from years before. So it was time for a clean out. Obviously I won't do much damage in two days, but I am trying to see how much materialistic items I have cluttering my space.

So far, I have one garbage bag filled with random things. Socks with holes, or that have permanently lost their partners, old make-up and nail polishes I bought and never liked the color, etc. Tomorrow, I'll work on the chest downstairs that has basically been the "catch all" for things that don't have a place and go through clothes.

2011 will be a year of accomplishment, I surely hope. Letting go of excess clutter, both emotionally and physically is good. Clutter slows us down. We need to be free to fly.

Blessed Be!

My year in review- out with the old.

Goodbye 2010. I will not miss you.  This year has certainly been a rough one.

The first major blow happened in February with my father passing away. We haven't had a relationship in over ten years, yet his death hit me hard. We had to go back to his house, my childhood home, to clean it all out. It really hurt watching my childhood home disassembled and thrown in the back of a uhaul.

In May we moved.  Moving is normally stressful. This move was horrendous.  We were unprepared. With all the other stressors going on during that time (fiancĂ© quitting his job for example) things went undone and packing was done last minute. My overly judgmental half-siblings took this opportunity to lecture me, degrade me, and scream in my face about all the things I don't do "right".

In June, fiancĂ© got a DUI after leaving his sister's birthday party.  The rest of the summer months were decent. Yet, the lack of a job and the consequences that came with the DUI led fiancĂ© into a pretty deep depression. Depression led to more drinking, less job searching, and more debt.

In October, the family issues returned.  My sister and niece decided to show their emotional age and post untrue, nasty comments about fiancĂ© and me on facebook.  This led to fiancĂ© being thrown out of our house and moved into his mothers. Things were decent for a short while, until the drinking took over again.

In November, my mom let fiancĂ© come back to stay with us. The same week, his car was repossessed. And once again, this led to more depression, less job searching, more drinking, and debt.

December has been filled with fighting until fiancĂ© decided to go to rehab. It's been very tough, considering he didn't leave with us on good terms. To be honest, although I know it's for the best, I hate that it had to come to this. I hate that he had to leave us in order to better himself. But I still love him, and will stick by him until he tells me otherwise.

The positives of the year include watching Jay grow. He's speaking a lot now and getting so big. We had a lot of fun days in the park during the summer.  I also found spirituality that clicks with me and makes life a little more fulfilling.

I'm trying to start 2011 with a fresh outlook and lots of goals. Nothing unrealistic.  But that's another post.

Is it really Christmas Eve?

Jayden's 3rd Christmas
So I have to keep reminding myself that yes, it actually is Christmas eve. See, when I think of Christmas eve, and draw on my past experiences, I think family. I remember Aunt Sissy's Oaster Stew, mountains of cookies, and laughter. I remember me and my mother making our untraditional Chicken Parmesan Christmas eve dinners.  And usually by this time at night on Christmas eve's past, I'd be pretty drunk. This of course would be followed by desperately attempting to survive visiting Fiance's family on Christmas day.

But this year, I've done none of that. Jay is off with his grandmother visiting her boyfriend's family. Although I would have preferred spend the holiday with him, there's no reason he shouldn't experience the usual traditions of the day. I took a bubble bath. Cleaned here and there, played computer games, and am watching ABC family with all the kiddie Christmas oldies.  Mother and I had roast beef sandwiches, I know..so luxurious.

Fiance called from rehab. Mostly just to tell me what stuff to bring for him tomorrow. The only thing that makes me happy is that when he says "I love you" I can actually hear the meaning in it again.

So.. Ho Ho Ho..MERRY CHRISTMAS. Hope everyone has a great one!

Dear Followers

I'm so sorry for all the confusion with my blogs. From now on this will be my only blog, and the name will be changed to "Welcome to Mommy-ville." Although I would like to blog about spirituality, I'm still in the process of finding my own path and doing my own personal work.

My life has been torn upside down and inside out over the past couple months. I am not sure if fiance is still fiance. I'm not really sure what is going on in my life. But I intend to keep blogging and hopefully you'll keep reading!

Blessed be!
